The aims of ATTC are:

•                    Supporting theatre researchers, scholars and critics, both professionally and academically.
•                    Promoting and debating the works of its fellow members.
•                    Exchanging information and experiences through seminars and conferences, in order to communicate with the international scene of dramatic criticism.
•                    Participating effectively in the Arab and international festivals and conferences.
•                    Representing the voice of Arab theatre critics in the international forum.
•                    Establishing a centre for Arab theatre studies.

AATC has around 30 members from all over the Arab world and is headed by Professor Hassan Attyia, Dean of the Higher Institute for Theatre Arts, Academy of Arts, Cairo, Egypt, while its Secretary General is Professor Said Al-Naji from Morocco.

The Vice Presidents of AATC are: the Iraqi critic based in Sweden, Professor Hussain Al-Ansari, Head of the Arab Academy's Theatre Department inDenmark and Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Associate Professor at Babel University, Iraq, while the well-known Egyptian critic, Sebaie Al-Sayed, holds the portfolio of Communications Coordinator.
